Petrol station bilkings

by | Jun 21, 2011 | Northumbria Police

Police are appealing for witnesses after a spate of bilkings from petrol stations.
The bilkings – where the driver has driven off without paying for fuel – have happened over the past couple of days at petrol stations across Sunderland and in South Tyneside.
Around 15 incidents have been reported to police, with the majority happening in Sunderland. All are being linked to the same vehicle.
Officers are keen to trace a red Honda off road motorbike registration G291 SCG as the owners may be able to help with their enquiries.
Neighbourhood officers across Sunderland will be visiting each petrol station asking them to be extra vigilant.
Anyone with any information should contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191. Or alternatively Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
