Weekly summary of roadworks for M25

M25 Junction 16 to Junction 23Ongoing work to widen this section of the M25 to four lanes in each direction between junctions 18 and 21a continues this week. Three narrow lanes in each direction will be available during busy times, with off-peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed restriction is in place operating 24 hours a day. A free recovery service is availableM25 Junction 27 to Junction 30Ongoing work to widen M25 to four lanes in each direction between junctions 28 and 29 continues this week. A contraflow system operates on the clockwise carriageway between junctions 28 and 29. Three narrow lanes in each direction will be available during busy times, and off peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. Currently a 50mph speed limit is in place operating 24 hours a day. A free recovery service is available. M25 Junction 22 The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight on Monday 31 January from 10pm to 5.30am for horticultural cutting and planting work. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.M25 Junction 29 The clockwise exit slip road will be closed from 10pm to 5.30am for two nights from Saturday 01 February for construction and improvement work. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.M4 Junction 4 to 4a The southbound spur bus lane is closed from 10pm to 5am for 12 nights from Monday 24 January for carriageway reconstruction and repair work. M40 Junction 1a The westbound link roads to the clockwise and anti-clockwise M25 will be closed overnight on Monday 31 January from 10pm to 5am for carriageway sweeping. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expectedM25 Junctions 9 to 10 Controlled Motorway project Work is taking place between Monday 22 November and the end March 2011 to install new gantries in preparation for the introduction of a new section of M25 controlled motorway. There will be four narrow lanes in operation in each direction with no hard shoulder. There will be additional overnight lane closures when required between the hours of 10pm to 6am. A number of complete carriageway closures are planned. These started on Saturday 15 January, and details will be published in this bulletin.M25 Junction 9 to 10 The clockwise and anti-clockwise carriageways between Junction 9 and 10 will be closed overnight on Saturday 29 January from 10pm to 6am for construction and structures work. If the closure does not go ahead the following Wednesday (02 February) will be used as a contingency. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.M25 Junction 9 to 10 The clockwise and anti-clockwise carriageways between Junction 9 and 10 will be closed overnight on Saturday 05 February from 10pm to 6am for construction and structures work. If the closure does not go ahead the following Wednesday (09 February) will be used as a contingency. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel Phase 3 of this major tunnel refurbishment scheme started on Monday 14 June 2010, and is expected to be complete in Spring 2011. Throughout this phase, the southbound tunnel will be closed and a two lane contraflow, with narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit 24 hours a day will operate in the northbound tunnel. Drivers should expect moderate delays during these works . A free recovery service will be in place.
