Police are appealing for information after two large cast iron bull status were stolen from Chillingham Castle.
Between Monday May 23 and Friday May 27 thieves stole the two identical statues from the front of the castle.
The statues are around 2ft in height and fairly heavy, so police believe the thieves must have used a vehicle to transport them.
Berwick Neighbourhood Inspector Peter Duguid said: “If anyone saw any suspicious vehicles or people in the area of Chillingham Castle last week then I’d ask that they contact us with any information they have.
“These are quite distinct statues and I’d appeal for anyone who knows where they are to get in touch with police so we can return them to the castle.”
Anyone with any information into the theft is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
