55 jobs at new Sainsbury’s Wareham store

by | Jul 1, 2009 | Sainsbury

Sainsbury’s will open the doors to a new store in Wareham on Wednesday 1st July 2009. The building was acquired from Somerfield in April 2009 and 55 new jobs have been created following the major refurbishment. The 10,400 square feet store has 4 self-scan checkouts for customers with just a few items as well as a new bakery.
Long-serving colleague, Jenny Moss, will perform red carpet duties and cut the ribbon to officially open the new supermarket at 9am on the 30th.  Jenny, from Wareham, has been working at the store for 25 years while it was owned by Somerfield and will be asked to cut the ribbon on opening day as a surprise from new store manager Matt Hunter.
Matt said: “We’re proud of our new store but the best part of opening is getting to know the local community. It’s been great meeting new people and we’re looking forward to making a positive difference. Jenny is the perfect example of a community minded person and we’re happy to have such a long-serving expert here to show us the ropes!”
Doors will open at 9.00am and the first customer in store will receive a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of Champagne from Matt Hunter.
