Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Northumberland.
On the evening of Friday December 3 police received information that a man was receiving hospital treatment following an assault which had taken place at the junction of First Avenue and Queen Street in Ashington, Northumberland. It's believed to have happened at around 6.30pm.
The injured man, aged 18, received treatment for stab wounds to his legs before being discharged. Police are carrying out a number of enquiries into the incident are asking for witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Neil Bennett, Ashington CID, said: "We're carrying out enquiries in the area, including house to house, and are doing everything we can to trace the offender. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about it is asked to contact us as soon as possible."
