Weekly summary of roadworks for M25

M25 Junction 16 to Junction 23Work to widen the M25 from three lanes to four between junctions 16 and 23 continues this week. Work is underway in the central reservation between the Watford-St Albans railway bridge and junction 23 for the A1(M) which continues until May 2012. Drivers in the clockwise carriageway should be aware that lane 4 will merge with lane 3 at the start of the roadwork section. Three narrow lanes will be available in each direction during busy times, with off-peak lane and slip-road closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed restriction is in place operating 24 hours a day. A free recovery service is available. M25 Junction 27 to Junction 30Work to widen the M25 from three lanes to four between junctions 27 and 30 continues this week. Work is underway on the final phase of the widening, between Junctions 29 and 30. Three lanes will be available in each direction between junctions 29 and 30 during busy times, with off-peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed restriction is in place operating 24 hours a day. A free recovery service is available.M25 Cobham Motorway Service AreaWork to build the slip roads which will serve a new motorway service area near junction 10 continues this week. Traffic on the clockwise carriageway is being diverted onto a 900 metre of temporary carriageway, with anti-clockwise traffic in contra-flow while an underpass is built beneath the motorway. Narrow lanes and a 50mph limit are in place on both sides of the road, enforced by average speed cameras. M25 Junction 6The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight on Sunday 18 March between 10.30pm and 5am for communication maintenance work. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via junction 8.M25 Junction 8The anti-clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight on Monday 19 March between 10pm and 5am for communications maintenance work. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via junction 6.M25 Junction 8 to Junction 7The anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight on Saturday 24 March between 10pm and 5am for bridge construction work. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the A217, A25 and B2235 to the M25 junction 6.M25 Junction 12The link road from the eastbound M3 to the anti-clockwise M25 will be closed overnight for four nights from Monday 19 March between 10pm and 5.30am for carriageway reconstruction. On Friday night work will start at 11pm. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via junction 13.M25 Junction 12The link road from the clockwise M25 to the westbound M3 will be closed overnight for five nights from Monday 19 March between 10pm and 5am for resurfacing work. On Friday nights work will start at 11pm. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via junction 11.M25 Junction 30The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight for 10 nights from Monday 19 March between 10pm and 5.30am for communication maintenance work. On Friday night work will start at 11pm. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the A13, A128, and A127 to M25 Junction 29.M4 Junction 4b to Junction 5The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight for seven nights from Saturday 24 March between 10pm and 6am each night while the road layout for a roadworks scheme is altered. On Friday night work will start at 11pm. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the A4.M11 Junction 5The northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight for 15 nights from Wednesday 21 March between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing work. On Friday night work will start at 11pm. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the M25 junction 26.M11 Junctions 4 to Junction 6The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight for 15 nights from Wednesday 21 March between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing work. On Friday night work will start at 11pm. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the M25 junction 28.M20 Junction 1 and A20 Crittalls CornerThe eastbound M20 at junction 1 will be closed from 11pm on Friday 16 March to 5.30am on Monday 19 March. There will then be overnight closures of the eastbound A20 carriageway between Crittalls Corner and the M20 junction 1 entry slip road for four nights (10pm to 5.30am) from Monday 19 March.The Swanley Interchange entry slip road on to the M20 will also be closed overnight for four nights from Tuesday 20 March (10pm to 6am Tuesday to Thursday nights and from 11pm on Friday night) for improvement work. Clearly signed diversions will be in place during all closures. During the weekend closure eastbound traffic will be diverted off the A20 via the exit slip road, around the junction, and on to the M20 via the entry slip road.During the overnight closures traffic from the eastbound A20 wishing to gain access to M20, M25 or A20 eastbound via M20 Junction 1 (M25 Junction 3) will be diverted from Crittalls Corner junction via the A223 and the B2173 through Swanley town centre to M25 Junction 3 (M20 Junction 1).A3 Wisley RoundaboutThe Wisley Roundabout between the M25 anti-clockwise entry slip road and the A3 northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight for two nights from Monday 19 March between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing work. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the Ockham junction on the A3. A3 EsherThe northbound exit slip road for Esher will be closed overnight for 12 nights from Monday 19 March between 10pm and 5.30am each night for safety improvements. On Friday night work will start at 11pm. A fully signed diversion route will be in place from Painshill via local roads to Esher.A1 Junction 1The northbound exit slip road will be closed overnight on Sunday 18 March between 10.30pm and 5am for sign replacement work. .
