Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a robbery at The Shire Chippy, Lesbury Avenue, Shiremoor in North Tyneside at around 11pm on Friday, April 10. Officers have issued a poster containing a cctv photo of two men they wish to trace in connection with this crime.
The offenders were carrying what appeared to be hammers and threatened staff. No one was hurt but they left with an undisclosed amount of cash. One man left on foot the other on dark coloured mountain bike. During the robbery the men were wearing white, disposable overalls and black balaclavas.
DC Jason Cowell, investigating the robbery said: "We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery and anyone who may have information about this crime to contact us straightaway on 03456 043 043 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. "We need help from the public in finding those responsible and we are appealing to local people for assistance."
