Sainsbury's will open the doors to a new store in High Wycombe on Wednesday 12th August 2009, creating more than 200 new jobs. The 70,000 square foot supermarket, located on Oxford Road features Tu clothing, home and electrical goods, a bakery, café and pharmacy as well as 10 self-scan checkouts for customers with only a few items.
Long serving colleagues, Chris Beck, Marilyn Lister and Nicky Clark will perform red carpet duties and cut the ribbon to officially open the new supermarket at 9am on the 12th. This will be the fourth store in High Wycombe that the three colleagues have worked in and Marilyn said: "It's really exciting to be part of the new store in High Wycombe! It has been great fun getting ready for opening and I think everyone will love it."
Store manager Paul Gant said: "We're proud of our new store but the best part of opening is getting to know the local community. It's been great meeting new people and we're looking forward to making a positive difference here. We've already started by working with the local Job Centre to ensure we recruit from the local community, and by selecting the Iain Rennie Hospice to sponsor going forward. "
Doors will open at 9.00am and the first customer in store will receive a bouquet of flowers from Paul Gant.
