Police are appealing for witnesses following a fire at a skip hire, waste transfer premises, Holystone Ltd, at Davy Bank in Wallsend. Emergency services were called to the premises at 2.15am on Monday, July 18, following reports of fire damage to equipment which was dealt with by the fire service.
Police are treating this as suspicious and are undertaking a forensic examination of the scene.
Officers are also appealing for anyone who was in the area in the early hours of Monday, July 18, and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact police.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
