Police are appealing for information after a sat nav was stolen from a car in Gateshead.
At 11.30pm on Thursday, November 24, someone got inside a silver Volkswagen on Wealcroft, Leam Lane Estate and stole a sat nav system.
Officers are keen to trace a man in his early 20s who was seen in the area at the time of the theft. He is described as between 5ft 5ins to 5ft 7ins tall and of a slim build. He was wearing a black Newcastle United hat, dark jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.
Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Evans said: “I’d urge any witnesses who saw the theft take place or anyone with information about the man described to get in touch as soon as possible.
"Our advice to motorists is always to remove sat nav systems and their holders when leaving a car - as well as the watermark."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
