Traffic bulletin: Reminder - Overnight weekend maintenance work at Hindhead Tunnel

Drivers are bring reminded that overnight maintenance work to keep journeys safe and reliable through the new A3 Hindhead Tunnel will be carried out this weekend.Both bores of the tunnel will be closed overnight from 9pm Saturday 17 March to 9am Sunday 18 March, while adjustments are made to the tunnel’s CCTV systems. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via Farnham on the A31 and A325. Long distance road users travelling between the M25 and M27 will be advised to use the M3 as an alternative route.The work will improve the tunnel’s resilience and reduce the risk of unplanned closures in the future.Drivers are advised to plan their journeys before setting out, and to allow some extra time for their journeys if they are affected by the diversion.
