Cambridgeshire waste site raided
A suspected illegal waste site was raided today (20 May) by the Environment Agency with support from Cambridgeshire police.
Nine Environment Agency officers, accompanied by police officers raided the site in Farcet, nr Peterborough as part of an ongoing investigation by the Environment Agency into illegal waste sites.
One man was arrested and is being questioned at a local police station. Evidence was seized from the site and will now be examined by Environment Agency officers as part of an on-going investigation.
Phil Henderson, Environmental Crime Team Leader, said: “We are actively targeting the operators of illegal waste sites across the region. We will seek to close sites and prosecute criminals who flout the law, disregarding our environment and blighting communities.”
