Police have released CCTV images following an assault in Newcastle which left a man with a fractured skull.
Officers arrested six people after the disturbance in Newcastle city centre which happened at 5.30pm on Sunday, May 29, when police were called to a fight taking place at The Gate on Newgate Street.
As a result of the incident a 47-year-old man was kicked and fell to the ground, suffering a fractured skull for which he's received hospital treatment.
Police attended the scene and arrested four men aged 38, 33, 25 and 19 and youths aged 17 and 16 on suspicion of affray and they have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Police have spoken to a number of witnesses who were at the scene and are appealing for any others to come forward.
Officers have today released CCTV images of several people they would like to speak to as they think they might have important information.
Police believe that some of those pictured may be from the Carlisle area.
DC Dave Croskery, Newcastle Central CID, said: "During the incident a man received a serious facial injury. Police attended and made six arrests at the scene.
"There have been a number of witnesses already identified from the scene, however we know there were other people present who have not yet come forward. Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police."
