A20 Roundhill ViaductTemporary restrictions remain in place on the A20 near Folkestone while arrangements are made to replace components on the Roundhill viaduct. One lane is open in either direction with a 30mph speed limit in place and safety cameras in use, and there will be overnight closures as required with fully signed diversions in place.A27 Parapet RepaintingA third phase of work to maintain parapet railings on structures along the A27 continues this week is expected to be complete by 19 August. Work will be carried out at Polthooks Farm near Chichester, Hailsham Road near Hankham, Benfield Bridleway bridge near Hove and Greatwood bridge near Falmer. Work at Polthooks, Benfield Bridleway bridge and Greatwood bridge will be carried out each day between 9.30am and 3.30pm, with no restrictions to traffic. Pedestrian access at Benfield Bridleway bridge will be maintained at all times. While work is carried out on the Hailsham Road bridge there will be an overnight (8pm until 6am) single lane closure in place. A fourth phase of work will follow with work starting at Holmbush bridleway bridge over the A27 near Shoreham-by-Sea from Friday 12 August until the end of August. The Holmbush Bridleway bridge will be closed to vehicles for the duration of the scheme. Road users will be directed to use a local road diversion route at this time via Kingston Broadway, Upper Shoreham road and New Barn Road A27 overbridge. Pedestrian and horse rider access will be maintained for the duration of the scheme.A27 Havant to Chichester Road Studs and Markings ReplacementWork to replace the road studs and markings along both the east and westbound carriageways of the A27 between Warblington Interchange and Fishbourne Roundabout continues this week.The work will require temporary overnight carriageway closures on the A27, during which road users will follow a fully signed diversion route between Havant and Chichester via the A259. Work will continue on the westbound carriageway this week, between 10pm and 6am each week night. The work is expected to be complete on Friday 19 August.A2 Bridge RewaterproofingWork to re-waterproof two structures over the A2 near Canterbury will be carried out from Monday 01 to Monday 15 August.Stuppington Overbridge and the Renville Overbridge will both see work carried out on them between 8am and 6pm each week night. Both bridges will be closed throughout the work, with short local diversion routes in place for traffic. There will be no restrictions on the A2.A259 Bexhill on Sea ResurfacingWork starts on Monday 08 August to resurface the carriageway, and reintall road markings and road studs, and lay a high friction surfacing and traffic monitoring equipment on the A259 between the De La Warr Road Roundabout and the Hastings Boundary.While work is being carried out between the De La Warr Road Roundabout and the Hastings Boundary there will be single lane closures with temporary traffic lights in place, where road users escorted past the work site at 10mph. When work is carried out on the roundabout, the side roads will be shut and short diversions will be in place for access to local roads.All work will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am and is expected to be complete by Wedneday 17 August.M2/A2 Bridge Re-waterproofing WorksWork to resurface and rewaterproof bridges along the M2 and the A2 continues this week. There will be no strictions on the M2 or the A2. Painters Forstal Overbridge near FavershamFrom Monday 08 to Monday 22 August there will be a closure of the Painters Forstal Overbridge over the M2. There will be a fully signed diversion route in place for traffic wishing to use this overbridge. Northbound traffic will be diverted via Hanslett’s Lane, onto Well Lane, Faversham Road, and then onto Coxett Hill/Abbots Hill, where the diversion will end. Southbound traffic will use the same route in the opposite direction.Champion Court Overbridge near Faversham:From Monday 15 to Friday 26 August there will be a closure of the Champion Court Overbridge over the M2. There will be a fully signed diversion route in place for traffic wishing to use this overbridge. Northbound traffic will be directed via Sharsted Hill onto Faversham Road, and then onto Homestall Road where the diversion will end. Southbound traffic will use the same route in the opposite direction.A2 Solar Powered Studs Completion WorkWork will take place on Monday 08 and Tuesday 09 August to install new solar powered road studs on the coastbound exit slip road at Upper Harbledown and the Londonbound exit slip road at Bishopsbourne - both near Canterbury.The work will take place between 8pm and 6am each night, with temporay lane restrictions and slip road closures, for which fully signed diversion routes will be in place. A20 Roundhill Tunnel Routine MaintenanceOn Monday 08 and Tuesday 09 August the westbound carriageway of the A20 at Roundhill tunnel will be closed and on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 August the eastbound carriageway will be closed whilst routine maintenance is carried out. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am each night with a fully signed diversion route in place via the A259 and A260.A2 Cobham Londonbound Slip Road ClosureElectrical investigatory and repair work to the cables that power street lights at this junction will be carried out from Monday 08 August for five days, between 9.30am and 4pm each day. The slip road will be closed between 9.30am and 4pm each day, with a fully signed diversion route in place via nearby Tollgate junction. M23 Weatherhill Embankment Repair WorkThe hard shoulder on the southbound M23 to the north of junction 9 near Weatherhill remains in place this week while geotechnical work is carried out on the roadside embankment. The work is due to be complete early in September.A26 Quarry HillAn 18 tonne weight restriction is in place on the northbound A26 Quarry Hill Viaduct. The viaduct passes over the A21 and heads into Tonbridge from Tunbridge Wells in Kent.The restriction is a precautionary measure after routine inspections of the bridge identified that strengthening works may be needed in the future. The weight restriction will protect the integrity of the bridge while this is investigated further.All vehicles over 18 tonnes will be required to follow a short diversion via the A21 northbound to Morleys Interchange, where they will be directed to return on the southbound carriageway and enter Tonbridge using the southbound exit slip road at Vauxhall Lane Interchange. Bus operators and emergency services vehicles are still able to use the route.
