Police are appealing for information after vandals damaged a Tynedale play park.
Between Thursday, October 27, and Saturday October 29, vandals smashed the swings, climbing frame and four benches in the park in Millfield Road, Riding Mill.
The damage is extremely severe and police believe the vandals may have used an axe.
The park is being forced to close while repairs are being carried out.
Officers have arrested a 15-year-old youth in connection with the damage. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
