M25 Junction 16 to Junction 23Ongoing work to widen this section of the M25 to four lanes in each direction between junctions 18 and 21a continues this week. Three narrow lanes in each direction will be available during busy times, with off-peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed restriction is in place between junctions 18 and 21a that operates 24 hours a day. The second phase of the works between junctions 28 and 29 is nearing completion. Three narrow lanes in each direction will be available during busy times, and off peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. Currently a 50mph speed limit is in place operating 24 hours a day. M25 Junction 21a – 19As part of work to widen the M25 north-west of London, the Highways Agency needs to install gantries on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junction 21 and junction 19. The anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed between the junctions from midnight on Saturday 15 January to 6am on Sunday 16 January. A fully signed diversion will be in place directing traffic off the M25 at junction 21a and to junction 19 via the A405 and the A41.M25 Junction 21a The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight on Saturday 15 January from 10pm to 6am for carriageway reconstruction and repair work. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Southbound traffic will be diverted via the east tunnel and northbound traffic will be restricted to the west tunnel only. Slight delays are expected.M25 Junctions 9 to 10 Controlled Motorway project Work started on Monday 22 November until end March 2011 to install new gantries in preparation for the introduction of a new section of M25 controlled motorway. There will be four narrow lanes in operation in each direction with no hard shoulder. There will be additional overnight lane closures when required between the hours of 10pm to 6am. Work will not start until 11pm on Friday nights. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.M1 Junction 5 The northbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight on Monday 17 January from 10pm to 5am for carriageway sweeping. Moderate delays are expectedA1(M) Hatfield Tunnel Phase 3 of this major tunnel refurbishment scheme started on Monday 14 June 2010, and is expected to be complete in Spring 2011. Throughout this phase, the southbound tunnel will be closed and a two lane contraflow, with narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit 24 hours a day will operate in the northbound tunnel. Drivers should expect moderate delays during these works .
