Property is worth £10,000
Police are appealing for witnesses after model helicopters were stolen in a burglary in Newcastle.
It happened between 4pm on Wednesday February 25 and 1pm on Thursday February 26 when a burglary took place at a house in South Gosforth, Newcastle.
During the burglary £10,000 worth of remote control helicopters and associated equipment were stolen, along with other items.
Most of the models are up to 6ft in length and are hand-built using a unique combination of components.
It's thought that to remove the property at least one van would be required.
Detective Constable Grant Falconer, said: "This collection has been built up by the owner over many years and is irreplacable. We're doing all we can to find the person or people responsible for this incident and are following up several lines of enquiry.
"I'd urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity across South Gosforth during the specified period, such as people removing a large number of model helicopters from a house, to contact us.
"Anyone who has seen a large number of remote control helicopters being stored by someone or who has been offered them for sale should get in touch with us at the earliest opportunity. They may have information which is vital to the enquiry."
Anyone with information can contact police on 03456 043 043 or independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
