Work will take place on the A66 at Scotch Corner and the A1 between Dishforth and Leeming Bar. These works will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am to minimise any disruption to drivers.Patching of the A66 northbound exit slip road at Scotch Corner will take place from 7 to 9 March. During the work it will be necessary to close this slip road. Northbound traffic wishing to exit at Scotch Corner will continue along the A1, leave at Junction 56 and return to Scotch Corner on the southbound carriageway.Work to resurface sections of the A1 northbound carriageway between Dishforth and Scotch Corner will take place from 9 to 11 March. During the work the northbound carriageway will be closed and traffic will be diverted from Junction 49 via the A168, A19 and A689 to rejoin the A1 at Junction 60. Local traffic will have access to the A1 between Dishforth and Leeming Bar to get to and from properties. Local traffic wishing to travel further north than Leeming Bar will be diverted via the A684 and A167 to rejoin the A1 at Darlington. Road patching works on the westbound A66 between Scotch Corner and Sedbury will take place from 11 to 12 March. During the work the westbound carriageway will be closed and there will be a contraflow on the eastbound carriageway. A 10 mph speed limit will be in place for safety reasons. Highways Agency project manager, Steve Bishop, said: “We are carrying out this work overnight in order to minimise any disruption to drivers. During the road closures clearly signed diversion routes will be in place. The work will improve safety along these stretches of road and prolong the life of carriageway, reducing the need for future maintenance.”End
