The information provided in this report is correct as of the above date but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.A303 Road Marking Renewal SchemeWork is continuing to renew road marking and road studs on the A303 between the M3 Junction 8 interchange and the Park House Interchange near Shipton Bellinger in Hampshire. Work is being carried out across both lanes on the westbound and eastbound carriageways using overnight lane closures and convoy traffic management between 9pm and 6am. There are also various slip-road closures, with signed diversion routes in place. There is a temporary reduced speed limit of 40mph on the approach to the work site, and 10mph past the site itself. A34 Lodge Hill (near Abingdon) Safety BarrierWork to maintain the safety barrier along the Lodge Hill Bridge on the A34 near Abingdon in Oxfordshire is taking place during off-peak daytime hours, and is expected to be complete later this month. There are no restrictions on the A34 main carriageway.A404(M) Western Region Railway BridgeA scheme to replace the Western Region Railway Bridge on the A404(M) near Maidenhead continues this week. Two narrow lanes remain available at peak times in each direction, and a 40mph speed limit remains in place, with additional off-peak restrictions as required. The scheme is expected to be completed in September 2011.M4 Junction 13 – 14 Winterbourne Bridge (near Chieveley)Safety repair work is taking place to the bridge which carries the M4 motorway over the B4494 between junctions 13 and 14 near Newbury in Berkshire. Work started at the beginning of May and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2011. Contraflow traffic management is currently in place on both carriageways, with additional overnight lane closures as required. A 50mph temporary speed limit remains in place, enforced by average speed cameras. M4 Junction 7 Huntercombe Spur (near Slough) ResurfacingWork is starting this week to address surface defects, in two phases, on sections of the northbound and southbound carriageway of the Huntercombe Spur link road and the slip-roads at Junction 7 of the M4. Phase One will be carried out on the southbound carriageway, and is scheduled to start on Monday 15 August 2011. The work will take five week-nights to complete.Phase Two will be carried out on the northbound carriageway, and is scheduled to start on Monday 22 August 2011. The work will take approximately eight week-nights to complete, weather permitting, and will not take place on Friday 26 August and Monday 29 August. All work will be undertaken at night between 10pm and 5.30am.During these hours for Phase One, there will be a full southbound carriageway closure of the Huntercombe Spur link and the entry slip-roads to the M4, and during the hours for Phase Two, there will be a full northbound carriageway closure of the Huntercombe Spur link and the exit slip-roads from the M4. Whilst the closures are in place, a clearly signed diversion route via M4 Junction 6 and the Bath Road will be available.Safety barrier maintenance – various routesWork to inspect and re-tension safety barriers across motorways and major roads in central southern England continues this week. Depending on the location, work will be carried out during off-peak daytime hours or overnight using temporary lane closures, with occasional overnight slip road closures, which will be confirmed in this bulletin. This work should be completed in October 2011.A3 Hindhead This major improvement scheme is now open to traffic.Bedhampton Roundabout Improvement WorkA twelve month scheme led by Havant Borough Council to improve the junction at the Bedhampton Roundabout (also known as the Rusty Cutter Roundabout), just off junction 5 of the A3(M) in Hampshire, began in October 2010. The improvements will include the introduction of traffic signal controls at the end of the A3(M) and A27 exit slip roads at their junction with the roundabout. New lanes will also be added to the roundabout itself, on the A3(M) southbound exit slip road and eastbound on the link road to the A27 junction. Further information on this scheme can be found at www.dyerandbutler.co.ukA303/A34 Bullington Cross – Slip road ClosuresMaintenance work continues on the A303 at the Bullington Cross in Hampshire, where the road meets the A34. Sections of the interchange will be resurfaced, and electrical work will be carried out on the street lights. Work to replace the cabling for the street lighting is scheduled to take place overnight between 9pm and 5am on various dates in August and will be carried out in three separate phases, each requiring various slip road closures: * The A303 eastbound exit and entry slip roads, and the A34 northbound exit and entry slip-roads will be closed for 10 consecutive nights (excluding Saturday and Sunday nights.)* The A34 southbound exit slip-road will be closed for up to 15 consecutive nights (excluding Saturday and Sunday nights).M3 Maintenance Works, Hampshire and SurreyWork continues this week to renew white lining and road studs along sections of the M3 in both directions from junction 13 at Eastleigh to just south of junction 2, at Thorpe. The work will be carried out overnight (between 10pm - 6am) throughout August. Traffic Management will be in place on different sections of the M3 and will include lane closures with a restricted speed limit of 10mph past the work site.Ends
