Highways Agency to undertake improvement works on the A5.

The project will be delivered in two phases. The first phase of the work is due to start on Friday 9 December and is due to finish on Monday 19 December. During this period of the works, the A5 will be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am. Diversion routes will be sign posted.The footway reconstruction will be delivered during the second phase of the work which will start on Tuesday 20 December and is scheduled for completion by Friday 13th January. During this phase of the project, there will be two way traffic lights in operation during the works. Roadworks will be suspended over the Christmas and New Year Holiday period. Debraj De, Highways Agency project manager, said: "This essential work will improve driving conditions for motorists and pedestrians. The work has been carefully planned to keep disruption to a minimum. We do advise drivers to check conditions and leave extra time for their journeys if necessary.“For more information, motorists can contact the Highways Agency Information Line on 0300 123 5000.”
