Police have arrested a man after an assault in Newcastle city centre.
At 2.44am on Saturday, April 21, police received information that an assault had taken place at The Gate, where a man had suffered cuts to his face which required stitches.
It's not yet clear how his injuries were caused. He received hospital treatment and is now recovering.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
