Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a kayak from an address in Wallsend.
The theft happened overnight on Tuesday, November 9, and was discovered on Wednesday morning. Thieves scaled an 8 ft brick wall and got through a padlock and straps which had been securing the boat to the wall. Thieves then lifted the kayak over the wall and made off.
The vehicle is a Dagger kayak valued at £430. Police are appealing for anyone who saw a kayak being carried around Wallsend at this time, or anyone who has since been offered a kayak for sale to contact them.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
