Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist died in a crash in North Tyneside.
At around 1.05pm on Thursday January 27 a motorcyclist riding a Kawasaki Ninja came off his bike on Killingworth Lane approaching Backworth village and collided with a barrier.
The reasons for the crash are yet to be established.
The rider, a 44-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene.
Police are appealing for information to help piece together what happened.
Sergeant Phil Patterson said: "We are asking any motorists or pedestrians who may have been in the area at the time of the collision to think back and consider if they saw this distinctive green motorcycle. If they did they may have important information to assist with the investigation of this fatal collision."
