Officers are appealing for witnesses after two cars were damaged in Ponteland.
Between 10pm Tuesday, January 11, and 8am Wednesday, January 12, vandals poured a corrosive liquid over two cars parked in Ladywell Way.
The liquid damaged the paintwork on the VW Bora and Citroen Xsara.
Anyone with any information into the damages is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
