Information is being sought after a van was stolen in Newcastle containing prescription medication.
The theft happened at just before 10.40am today, Wednesday, December 28,  when the white Citroen van was stolen as its driver carried out a prescription delivery on Allerton Gardens, Heaton.
The van contained a variety of anti-psychotic and anti-epileptic medication.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and are keen to trace an old gold Volvo seen in the area at the time of the theft.
Officers are also warning of the dangers the medication could pose.
Detective Constable Helen Mackay, from Newcastle CID, said: "Any concoction of medication is potentially extremely dangerous, and it's equally dangerous for people to take medication which has not been prescribed to them.
"I'd warn those responsible not to consume any of the medication, and would urge people not to purchase or accept medication which is not specifically prescribed to them.
"Anyone who knows the whereabouts of this stolen medication should contact us as soon as possible.
"Anyone who witnessed the van theft or has information about who is responsible should also get in touch."
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
