Weekly summary of roadworks for M25

M25 Junction 16 to Junction 23Work to widen the M25 from three lanes to four between junctions 16 and 23 continues this week. Work is underway in the central reservation between the Watford-St Albans railway bridge and junction 23 for the A1(M) which continues until May 2012. Drivers in the clockwise carriageway should be aware that lane 4 will merge with lane 3 at the start of the roadwork section. Three narrow lanes will be available in each direction during busy times, with off-peak lane and slip-road closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed restriction is in place operating 24 hours a day. A free recovery service is available. M25 Junction 27 to Junction 30Work to widen the M25 from three lanes to four between junctions 27 and 30 continues this week. Work is underway on the final phase of the widening, between Junctions 29 and 30. Three lanes will be available in each direction between junctions 29 and 30 during busy times, with off-peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed restriction is in place operating 24 hours a day. A free recovery service is available.M25 Cobham Motorway Service AreaWork to build the slip roads which will serve a new motorway service area near junction 10 continues this week. Traffic on the clockwise carriageway is being diverted onto a 900 metre of temporary carriageway, with anti-clockwise traffic in contra-flow while an underpass is built beneath the motorway. Narrow lanes and a 50mph limit are in place on both sides of the road, enforced by average speed cameras. M25 Junction 5The anti-clockwise slip road to the southbound A21 will be closed overnight on Thursday 29 March between 10pm and 5am for safety improvements. A fully signed diversion route will be in place. M25 Junction 10The clockwise exit slip road will be closed overnight for two nights from Monday 26 March between 10pm and 5.30am for resurfacing works. A fully signed diversion route will be in place.M25 Junction 12The eastbound and westbound link roads from the M3 to the clockwise M25 will be closed overnight on Friday 30 March between 11pm and 6am for carriageway repair. A fully signed diversion route will be in place.M25 Junction 14The anti-clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight on Monday 26 March between 10pm and 5am for sign maintenance. On Friday night work will start at 11pm. A fully signed diversion route will be in place via the A4.M20The eastbound carriageway at junction 1 will be closed overnight for four nights from Monday 26 March between 10pm and 5.30am for carriageway construction and repair. A fully signed diversion route will be in place acoss the junction interchange.A1(M) Hatfield TunnelThe Hatfield Tunnel will be closed overnight in both directions on Saturday 31 March between 10pm and 5am for routine tunnel maintenance. On Friday night work will start at 11pm.
