Police are appealing for information after over £40,000 worth of metal was stolen in Cramlington.
Between 7pm Friday, April 15, and 7am Saturday, April 16, thieves broke into a business premises in the Bassington industrial estate.
They stole engineered stainless steel valves and pipes worth over £40,000, an three laptop computers.
Cramlington Neighbourhood Sergeant Mick Aspey said: "The metal the thieves stole had been specifically engineered and so was of great value to the company, but no where near as valuable in scrap value.
"I'd appeal for anyone who is offered any of the pipework or valves, or any metal that they think could be stolen, to contact police."
Police are visiting local scrap yards and are checking those collecting scrap throughout Northumberland for the stolen metal and are appealing for anyone who may have any information into the thefts to contact them on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
