Man assaulted in Wallsend

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault inside a house in Ash Grove, Wallsend.
The incident happened on Thursday, April 21 at 7.20pm when a 38-year-old man entered the house, an argument took place and he was assaulted by another man. He received head injuries and was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital for treatment and then transferred to the RVI for further treatment and later released.
Police are investigating and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact police. Officers are also asking for anyone who was at or near the New Winning Pub and who may have information about this incident to come forward.

A 24-year-old North Tyneside man has been arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault and bailed pending further enquiries.
