Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a taxi dispatch computer sat nav.
The theft happened in the early hours of Saturday, August 6, from a taxi parked in Wallsend. Thieves approached the secure vehicle and smashed the front off-side window and stole the taxi dispatch computer sat nav machine and brackets which had all been left out of sight on a shelf.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been offered this item for sale to contact police.
Officers also want to remind motorists to remove portable sat navs and any other valuable equipment from their vehicles when they park up.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
