Government Communications (NDS)
5 March 2012
Work is due to start on Monday 11 March and is due to finish by 18 March. All work will take place overnight from 10pm and 5am to minimise disruption for road users. During the works, the southbound carriageway of the M6 between junction 1 and Junction 19 of the M1 will be closed overnight from 11 March to 13 March and the northbound carriageway will be closed from 14 March to 18 March. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted.Mark Braithwaite, Highways Agency project manager, said: "This work is important to maintain the carriageway in a good condition. The work has been carefully planned to keep disruption to a minimum, and so is being carried out overnight, when traffic flows are lowest. We do advise drivers however to check conditions and leave extra time for their journeys if necessary."For more information, motorists can contact the Highways Agency Information Line on 0300 123 5000.
