Woman injured in collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash in Northumberland. At just before 11.30am on Saturday September 11, police received a report of a crash near Ponteland.
It happened on Stamfordham Road around 120 metres west of the Medburn junction and involved a Mitsubishi car and an agricultural vehicle.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 27-year-old woman, was airlifted to Newcastle General Hospital with head and chest injuries and her condition is described as critical.
The driver of the agricultural vehicle wasn't injured. The road was closed for almost four hours to allow for investigation to take place.
Officers investigating the crash are still trying to piece together the exact circumstances and enquiries are ongoing. They are appealing for witnesses.
