Police investigating an assault in Newcastle city centre have released CCTV images of two men they need to speak to in connection with the incident.
It happened at 2.10am on Friday, May 27, when police were alerted to a disturbance outside Liquid Envy nightclub at New Bridge Street West.
It was been established that a group had been ejected from the nightclub after causing problems inside. There was then a disturbance outside the club where one group of people had started a fight with another group.
During this, a 19-year-old man was assaulted. He suffered a suspected broken cheekbone and eye socket and is receiving treatment in hospital.
Police have released CCTV images of two men who were in the vicinity at the time who they believe can help with their enquiries into the incident.
DC Andy Kelsall, Newcastle CID, said: "Police attended the incident and a man has subsequently been charged with offences in relation to it.
"We believe the two men in these images have information about what happened and we're keen to trace them and speak to them as soon as possible. I'd urge them or anyone who knows who they are to get in touch with us."
A 20-year-old man has been charged with unlawful wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in connection with this incident.
