At 3.05pm, on Saturday, August 6, police received a report of a woman having fallen from a cliff at North Sunderland Point, Seahouses.
Officers attended the scene along with the Coastguard and the ambulance service.
The 59-year-old woman, who is not from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
We are not in a position to name her or give any further details on her identity at this stage until all family members have been informed.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
