A man has been charged after an assault in Newcastle.
It happened at 1.20pm on Wednesday, October 5 when the 58-year-old man was struck over the head with an item, believed to be a baseball bat, at Burnham Avenue in Lemington.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a stable condition.
Following enquiries police arrested two men aged 65 and 39 on suspicion of wounding with intent.
The 39-year-old has been charged with wounding with intent and is going through the court process. The 65-year-old man has been bailed pending further enquiries.
