Police are investigating after a man was assaulted in Newcastle.
It happened at about 4am today, Wednesday, November 23, when police received information from the ambulance service that a man had been attacked at Merton Road, Walker.
Officers attended and found that a 39-year-old man had suffered wounds to his shoulder and one to his lower back. He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition is not believed to be life threatening.
