A1 resurfacing works Catterick North Interchange to Leeming Bar Interchange

During the work it will be necessary to close the southbound carriageway between Catterick North and Catterick South Interchanges between 8pm on Wednesday 26 January to 6am on Thursday 27 January.Traffic wishing to travel south on the A1 will be diverted via the A6136 to rejoin the A1 at Catterick South Interchange.The southbound carriageway will be closed between Scotch Corner and Leeming Bar from 8pm on Thursday 27 January and 6am on Friday 28 January.Long distance traffic wishing to travel south on the A1 will be diverted via A689, A19 and A168 to rejoin the A1 at Dishforth. A local diversion route will be in place via the A1 and A66, and will join the main diversion route at the A19.During the closures there will be restricted access to properties along these sections of the A1. Contact details will be provided to local residents and they will be escorted through the works area.Highways Agency project manager, Steve Bishop, said: “This work will improve safety along this section of the A1 and prolong the life of carriageway, minimising the need for future roadworks. We ask that drivers take extra care when travelling along the diversion routes.”End
