NEW WORKM11 JUNCTION 6 BRIDGE REPAIR WORKWork will start on Monday 6 February to resurface and carry out bridge joint replacements on Mount Street Bridge at junction 6 of the M11 (M11/M25). While the work is carried out overnight, Mondays to Fridays only, the M11 will be reduced to one lane either northbound or southbound between the exit and entry sliproads at the junction. The work will take place between 9pm and 5am with northbound traffic diverted via the M25 westbound to the next junction to return eastbound and re-join the M11. Westbound M25 traffic wishing to join the M11 will be diverted to the next junction to return eastbound to continue their journey. The work is expected to take up to 10 weekday nights. A14 CAMBRIDGESHIRE SLIPROAD REPAIRSWork starts on Monday 6 February to carry out surface repairs to the sliproads at junction 29 Bar Hill and junction 30 Dry Drayton. The work will be carried out over 15 nights, Mondays to Thursdays between 9pm and 6am and on Friday nights between 10pm and 6am. The sliproads will be closed next week as follows with further closures week beginning Monday 13 February. · Monday 6/Tuesday 7 February - westbound exit sliproad at junction 29 Bar Hill; traffic will be diverted to junction 28 Swavesey and return to exit on the eastbound exit sliproad at Bar Hill.· Wednesday 8/Thursday 9 February - westbound entry sliproad at junction 29 Bar Hill; traffic will be diverted to junction 30 Dry Drayton to join the westbound carriageway· Friday 10 February – eastbound exit sliproad at junction 29 Bar Hill; traffic will be diverted to junction 30, Dry Drayton and return westbound to exit the A14.· Friday 10/Saturday 11/Monday 13/Tuesday 14 February - eastbound entry sliproad at junction 29 Bar Hill; traffic will be diverted to junction 28 Swavesey to join the eastbound carriageway.A5 MILTON KEYNES OVERNIGHT CLOSURES FOR DRAINAGE REPAIR WORKA scheme to reduce the risk of flooding continues on the A5 near Milton Keynes. The work will be carried out between the A5/A4146 Kelly’s Kitchen roundabout and the A5/A422 Abbey Hill roundabout. The A5 will be closed northbound between the Redmoor Roundabout (A5/A421) from Tuesday 31 January to Monday 13 February. The northbound carriageway will be closed between the A5/A509 Portway Roundabout and the A5/A422 Abbey Hill Roundabout from Tuesday 7 to Friday 10 February. The work will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, between 8pm and 8am on Friday nights, between 8pm and 9am on Saturday nights. There will be no work carried out on Sunday nights. There will be clearly signed diversions in place throughout the work.A47 NORWICH DRAINAGE MAINTENANCE WORKOvernight work will start on Monday 6 February, between 8pm and 6am Mondays to Fridays only, to clear drainage channels along the A47 single carriageway between North Burlingham and Tuddenham moving westwards on short sections. There will be temporary traffic signals in place to manage traffic past the section being worked on. ONGOING WORKM1 J6a to J10 HERTFORDSHIRE SIGN INSTALLATION WORKWork to install remote controlled signs for temporary traffic management on the central reservation of the M1 started on Monday 5 December. Installation of the signs, which will allow clearer warning of temporary lane closures for roadworks, will be carried out overnight on Monday nights only between 10pm and 5am for nine nights, with completion due in mid February. While the overnight work is taking place there will be lane closures on the M1 between junction 6a and junction 9 (Harpenden). M1 J10 TO J13 BEDFORDSHIRE HARD SHOULDER RUNNING SCHEME The following work is being carried out as part of the M1 J10 to J13 Managed Motorway scheme to provide additional capacity by opening up the hard shoulder as a running lane. There will be overnight sliproad closures at Junctions 10, 11, and 12 as follows: Junction 10, northbound entry sliproad and Junction 11, southbound entry sliproad: Tuesday 7 February; Junction 11, northbound exit sliproad: Wednesday 8 February;Junction 11, southbound, entry and exit sliproads: Thursday 9 – Saturday 11 February;Junction 12, traffic diverted up and over on southbound carriageway, Friday 10 February;Junction 12, traffic diverted up and over on northbound carriageway, Saturday 11 February. A contraflow is in operation on the M1 between junctions 12 and 13. During peak hours three lanes will remain open in both directions. A contraflow remains in operation from north of Junction 11 to Junction 12, diverting a lane of southbound traffic onto the northbound carriageway. Traffic on the northbound carriageway is using the hard shoulder as an additional lane. This allows for three lanes of traffic in each direction during the day whilst work takes place. Between Junction 10 and 11 there are currently three lanes of traffic in each direction during the day utilising lanes 1, 2 and 3. The hard shoulder is coned off to allow works in the verges to be carried out safely. There is a 50mph speed restriction in force between junctions 10 and 13. The enforced 50mph speed limit is there for the safety of the travelling public and the workforce on site. This traffic management is in place for the work on the Hard Shoulder Running scheme to reduce congestion and improve safety on the 15 mile stretch of the M1 in Bedfordshire. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys whilst the road works are taking place.A1/A1(M) CAMBRIDGESHIRE AND BEDFORDSHIRE SIGN RENEWAL WORKA scheme started on Monday 9 January to remove damaged signs and replace with new signs on the A1 and A1(M) between Alconbury and Baldock. The work will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am on Mondays to Fridays until completion at the end of February. While the work is taking place there will be lane 1 closures as well as sliproad and side road closures. Where sliproad closures are in place there will be clearly signed short diversion routes.SPEED LIMIT ON A1 SOUTHBOUND AND NORTHBOUND NEAR PETERBOROUGHA 50mph speed restriction remains in place on the southbound and northbound carriageway of the A1 at Water Newton for safety reasons. A12 LOWESTOFT ANGLIAN WATER SEWER REPAIRSEmergency work continues on the A12 Station Square in Lowestoft to restore a collapsed sewer. On Monday 6 February the traffic island will be re-instated and white lining carried out. The work is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday 7 February.A12 COLCHESTER MAINTENANCE WORKOvernight work started on Monday 23 January to strengthen the verge slope at Great Horkesley between Junctions 27 Spring Lane and 28 Severalls Interchange on the northbound A12. This work will be carried out between 8pm and 5am on weekdays overnight only for five weeks, finishing by the end of February. While the work takes place the A12 northbound past the works area will be reduced to one lane and a 50mph speed limit will be in place for safety reasons.A14 STOWMARKET OVERNIGHT CLOSURES FOR BRIDGE REPAIRSImprovement work on the Hill House viaduct on the A14 between junctions 49 and 50 near Stowmarket in Suffolk started on Monday 23 January. The work includes replacing two parapets and repairing the concrete structure as well as building a new inspection platform and installing a monitoring system. Narrow lanes are in place, with a 50 mph speed restriction and average speed cameras in use in both directions, until work is completed by the end of March. A14 SUFFOLK DRAINAGE MAINTENANCE WORKOvernight work started on Monday 23 January, between 8pm and 6am Mondays to Fridays only, to clear drainage channels along the A14 starting at Felixstowe working westwards on short sections towards Newmarket. In week beginning Monday 6 February the section between Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds will be worked on. There will be mobile single lane closures past the area being worked on each night.A14 CAMBRIDGESHIRE DRAINAGE MAINTENANCE WORKWork started on Monday 14 November on the A14 between St Ives (junction 26) and Fen Ditton (junction 34) to survey and cleanse the drainage system alongside the carriageway. The work will be carried out overnight only on Mondays to Fridays with lane closures and a 50mph speed restriction where the lane closures are in place. Sliproads will also be closed one at a time for one night only where the work is taking place. The work is ongoing until March. A14 SUFFOLK SPEED RESTRICTION AT TRIMLEY INTERCHANGEA 50mph speed restriction has been introduced on the eastbound and westbound carriageways of the A14 at Trimley Interchange (junction 59) while investigations are carried out on both nearside verges and central reservation.
