Police have arrested two men and seized an amount of believed stolen metal in Northumberland.
At 12:30pm on Monday , August 8, officers stopped a van carrying scrap metal in the North Seaton Area of Ashington.
As part of Operation Coin, the policing operation aimed at stopping metal thieves in the county, officers carried out checks on the driver, passenger and the metal they were carrying.
These checks lead to officers arresting the two men in the van on suspicion of theft and the vehicle being uplifted.
Further enquiries lead to officers carrying out a search of an address in Chestnut Street and locating a scooter that was reported stolen on August 5 inside the address along with more suspected stolen metal.
The two men, aged 26 and 60, have been bailed pending further enquiries.
