Police are appealing for witnesses after a lightning conductor was stolen from a Gateshead church.
The metal conductor was stolen from St Paul's Church on Scotland Head, Winlaton around 08.45am on Friday, September 9.
It is believed thieves used a sharp instrument to remove the rod from the building's outer wall.
Anyone who may have seen what happened, or anyone acting suspiciously around the church is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
